Abstract

Influenza is one of the most common infection in the world. Alot of research has been invested into development of vaccines to counter it It is very contagious and it has overburdened our health systems during Influenza epidemics. It is estimated to bring socioeconomic cost of 87 billion USD per year globally. (1) If we develop equitable vaccine distribution model, we can lessen this burden by using only a fraction of the resources that we lose to Influenza every year.

Based on earlier evidence, WHO suggested that any type of influenza vaccine is more effective than Placebo and it is recommended to do annual vaccination in high risk population(2). Recent evidence propose that efficacy changes with the type of vaccine used. Quadrivalent vaccines have higher efficacy than the placebos and monovalent vaccines. (3)
